I returned
to Solo Nationals in 2002 finishing mid pack due to age, lack
of practice and bad tire alignment. In the midst of preparing
for the 2003 season, I felt a decided lack of energy and enthusiasm
for working on the Seven, having campaigned the car every year
since '68 with perhaps a five year break. I put out some feelers
and found Peter Raymond willing to buy the YBM and Andre Samson
willing to buy the car as a rolling basket case. Thus ended my
relationship with LSB2325, a 34 year way of life. |

I'm not sure what
I'm going to do with it yet. I prefer racing to autocrossing,
not much of the frame is original, and many of the major parts
are too lightweight for racing. It should probably be in a museum,
it's so unique. Yet there are enough "original" sevens
I don't think I would restore it to "factory" spec.
But that thought had crossed my mind, though I think there would
be better basket cases for that treatment. |
